the FIRST FLOOR PLAN The concept was also carried into the house. The lobby served as ‘the eye’ and the circulation of the house rotated around it.	the SECOND FLOOR PLAN The color palette was inspired by the natural elements associated with a hurricane.
the LONG SECTION If you were to go outside in the eye of a hurricane, you could look up and see blue skies. Playing off of that idea, if you were to sit in the lobby, you could look up through the two upper stories of the house.	the SHORT SECTION

the CLIENT

The loft was designed to house 2 temporary staff members for the New England School of Art and Design. It would be used as incentive for instructors to come and teach at the school for a semester. The location of the loft was the Bay Village neighborhood, located within walking distance to the school.

the PROCESS

The concept for the loft was the eye of a hurricane. The loft would provide the faculty members with a calm environment amidst chaotic city life. This project was rendered using AutoCAD, Sketchup, Illustrator, Photoshop, and hand rendering techniques.
