Casablanca Side Table
the INSPIRATION
The Casablanca Side Table was inspired by Moroccan tile patterns. The metal table consists of 8 laser cut panels. It was designed to provide an experience between solids and voids as well as a seamless transition between the panels.
the PROCESS
The table was designed to be constructed out of 14 gauge welded powder coated sheet aluminum in order for the user to easily move it. The materiality of the table would also allow it to be mass produced. It was intended that the table would come in a choice of 5 colors and 5 patterns. The model was constructed using 1/16" clear acrylic, colored spray paint, super glue, a belt sander, and sandpaper.
